• Move from outside the Ylä-Savo region.
• Have secured an employment contract (minimum 12 months fixed-term or permanent) in the Iisalmi region, or are starting a new business in Iisalmi.
• Sign a rental agreement with Petterinkulma Oy for at least 6 months.

1. Save and print the voucher.
2. Complete the employment information section with your employer. If you are starting a new business in Iisalmi, provide the relevant business information.
3. Complete the rental details with a representative of Petterinkulma Oy.
4. Petterinkulma submits the completed form to the City of Iisalmi for approval.
5. The City of Iisalmi evaluates whether the terms of the campaign are met based on the information provided in your application and voucher. If eligible, the city commits to paying 50% of the rent directly to Petterinkulma Oy for three (3) months in accordance with the campaign terms.
6. Petterinkulma will confirm the rent compensation approval to you within 14 days.
7. You’re ready to start your rush-free life in Iisalmi!

• Applications (forms and vouchers submitted by Petterinkulma) are processed in order of arrival. The benefit is granted if all criteria are met.
• The City of Iisalmi grants this benefit to a maximum of five applicants.
• The benefit decision must be made no later than October 31, 2025.
• Those receiving the benefit must participate in a video interview and photo session organized by the City of Iisalmi. The city retains the right to publish these materials through its own and By Iisalmi partner channels and share them with media as part of its communications.
• If the applicant terminates the rental contract before the required six (6) months, in violation of campaign terms, the City of Iisalmi will reclaim the rent compensation already paid.

I appreciate the peace and closeness of nature in Iisalmi, but also the fact that you can be part of an active and communal life here if you want to. I enjoy the beautiful nature and the numerous leisure opportunities offered by the city.

When the workday is over, the best way to recover for me is to head straight to the nearby forest, breathe clean air and just enjoy the peace and quiet offered by nature. It’s a quality of life that I value very much. I’m also an active volleyball player, and when I play with my dear teammates, I forget about the rush and stress!

My home city in China had 21 million inhabitants. When I moved to Iisalmi, I learned to appreciate my own peace and time. In my opinion, Iisalmi has a unique combination of the peace of rural life and internationality.

If I feel rushed or stressed during the workday, I may sometimes relieve it by giving massages to my colleagues, because concrete actions help. Casual conversations with people also calm me down. Sometimes it’s also good to just sit down, stop and focus on breathing.

After a day at work, the best way to recover is to move to a different environment – if I have a morning shift, I have time to go to visit a café or library after work. Going for a walk and exercising are also good ways to recover from the working day. My hobbies include basketball, going to the gym and sometimes also water aerobics, either led by a colleague or virtual guidance!

One of my favorite places to recover is the walking routes in Iisalmi – it’s nice to walk everywhere and enjoy beautiful nature. The Haukiniemi beach area, which is close to me, and the sand court there are also important places for me, I like to play beach volley there in the summer. In addition to the diverse sports opportunities offered by Iisalmi, I also take advantage of the services of the Cultural Centre by attending concerts and events.
